Monthly Hotel Stays in Plano and Frisco
Published Oct 21, 2026
Plano and Frisco are the corporate north of Dallas: office campuses along the Dallas North Tollway and Sam Rayburn Tollway, new retail, and deep extended-stay coverage. Our October 2026 Dallas-Fort Worth list has 48 hotels in Plano and Frisco, and 40 of them publish a 30-night rate. Listed rates ran from about $59 to $200 a night, with a middle value of $101 a night. Those are listed rates for November 2 to December 2, 2026, not hotel-confirmed quotes.
The two cities at a glance
- Plano: 35 hotels in our list, the deeper and older market, with a middle listed rate near $95 a night.
- Frisco: 13 hotels, newer stock around the tollway and the Star district, with a middle listed rate near $123 a night.
- Next door: Allen, McKinney and The Colony add another 24 hotels in our list if the right address matters less than the right rate.
Plano: depth and value
Plano's hotel market runs along US-75 and the Dallas North Tollway, from older budget properties in the east to the Legacy West corridor at the top end. That spread is why the range is so wide: our list shows listed rates from about $59 up to $200 a night at Legacy West, with a middle value near $95 a night. For a monthly stay, Plano is where you compare the most options per mile.
Frisco: newer, pricier, campus-adjacent
Frisco's hotels cluster around the Dallas North Tollway, the Star and the Stonebriar area. The stock is newer and the listed rates show it: a middle listed rate near $123 a night in our October 2026 list, about $28 above Plano's. If your job sits in one of the tollway campuses, the shorter commute can be worth the difference; if not, Plano is ten minutes south.
Getting around
Daily life here runs on the Dallas North Tollway, Sam Rayburn Tollway (121) and US-75, and downtown Dallas is roughly 20 to 25 miles south. There is one rail option: DART's Red and Orange lines serve Parker Road station in Plano, per DART's station page checked on October 21, 2026, useful if your office is near a downtown Dallas station. Everywhere else, plan on a car.
Prices and taxes on a monthly stay
Across the 48 Plano and Frisco hotels in our October 2026 list, 40 publish a 30-night rate, from about $59 to $200 a night with a middle value of $101 a night. Listed rates for November 2 to December 2, 2026, not hotel-confirmed quotes; ask the hotel for the full monthly total in writing.
On taxes: Texas charges a 6 percent state hotel tax, and guests who stay 30 or more days and notify the hotel in writing beforehand are exempt from it from the day of notification, per the Texas Comptroller's FAQ checked on October 21, 2026. Both cities add a 7 percent local hotel occupancy tax on top, per the City of Plano's tax report instructions and the City of Frisco's hotel tax page, both checked on October 21, 2026; Frisco hotels with 75 rooms or more also carry a 2 percent Tourism PID assessment. Local rules on long stays can differ from state rules, so ask the hotel to show each tax line. This is general information, not tax advice.
What we found
Two findings from our research. First, 40 of the 48 hotels publish a monthly rate, so comparing here takes minutes. Second, the same brand can sit far apart on price: listed rates in this market run from about $59 to $200 a night, and in our data the address matters more than the brand name. Listed rates from our October 2026 research, not hotel-confirmed quotes.
